MERRY CHRISTMAS TO SNOW BOUND NYers

Had a nice Christmas on the beach except for the rather severe storm that came through the day before Christmas. We toured the area and have left there and are now near Tallahassee for a couple of weeks. Kelley and husband, Brian are driving down to spend a week with us and Brian's Mom in Panacea, FL. We will be celebrating Christmas, New Years and Kelley's birthday before we move on to O'Brien, FL around the 11th of January.

Alabama-Golf Course

Drove in the rain at least half the way from Dothan, AL to Foley, just west of Pensacola, FL. We are here for 2 days. Weather is supposed to be better tomorrow. They have a par 3 golf course here so hopefully we will be able to play. On Sunday we go to the timeshare on Orange Beach in AL. So we'll be in Alabama for 9 days before moving into the panhandle of Florida to visit Kelley's mother-in-law for a couple of weeks. PS: Weather was better and we played 18 holes on Saturday December 19. MERRY CHRISTMAS

Update the Update with a picture

Well, I haven't been able to load any pictures or haven't had alot of internet access at all lately. So, the week of December 5th thru 12th we spent with Traci, BJ and Austin in Atlantic Beach. Went to the North Carolina Aquarium, very nice. Visited Fort Macon used in the civil war and WWII. Also found a very nice Elks Club. It was oyster night, but we didn't have any.

After Traci left, we headed south to St. George SC. Got there at 3 pm, they invited us to a Christmas dinner that night. Good food and presents for everyone. It was fun. There were 3 NYers, Binghamton, Auburn and us. Only stayed the one night and headed to Hardeeville, SC. Stayed 2 nights as it was close to Savannah, GA. So we took a trolley tour of Savannah. Interesting. Lots of history of the civil war. Did expect to go back to Savannah, but a half hour into our next trek, the RV lost power again! Called a tow truck, but he said that it might run now. Lo and behold it did! He followed us to a Workhorse dealer in Savannah. While they were working on it, we took a second tour of Savannah. Went down to the river and had a beer at the Cotton Exchange. Well, it was the same problem as before and, hopefully, they fixed it permanently this time.

It was too late to get to our next destination, so we called and got into a campground closer. He was quite the southerner! That takes us to Americus, GA where we are now. Went into town to wash our tow car. Well, there were several black guys just waiting to wash our car for us. He was quite pushy, so we let him. Not sure he was happy with our $5 tip, but we hurried out of there. Today we are heading to Dothan, AL. Weather doesn't look that great, so even though there's a golf course there, not sure we'll be able to golf.

Moved north back into North Carolina to Cape Fear. Will be here on the intercoastal waterway for 5 days. Satellite still won't work since Hurricane Ida more than 2 weeks ago. Great!
