Up periscope

Captain Linda is seen here shouting out orders [to me?] again. Always in control of the ship and having fun too.

Submarine Museum

When you're camping near the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, it might be nice to visit their museum. A lot of information and history.

Next stop?

Found this vehicle outside the Saint Marys Submarine Museum in St Marys, GA.

Let's look closer..

It's  an Allegro Bay RV............and it's pulling a Jeep Rubicon. Yes Kelley, you are right. It would look good pulling your Jeep.

Movin on down...the road

From Augusta to Woodbine, GA for the week. A lot of over nighters stop here such as the rig & diggy shown here.

Almost forgot......

Meet Murphy Robinson

Enough said........

Dave, how are those Lions doing?

Time for dinner!

Yes, we all got around the table for a fabulous dinner. You met everyone outside in two pictures but it took more to catch everyone inside.

Happy Thanksgiving

We spent a great day at Bill & Diane Robinson's house in Evans, GA. Jan & Jim made it down from the cold north to celebrate the occasion. Di's brother Bob, Bill, Di and Daughter Ann Marie, Sister in-law Lynn, and Son in-law David rounded out the party at the pool.

Who that on the bridge?

Why it's Diane & Bill Robinson, former Walden Oaks Country Club members from Homer, NY. What a day to play at Fort Gordon GC. No the golf cart is not in the creek!

Not....Cortland County

This is Augusta GA and the RV loves it!

Meet JB & Jeradine Turner

Met these re-retired RVers from Easley SC and learned how to play Pegs & Jokers. Re-retired was full time RVers retiring back to part time park residence, part time home. Looking forward to seeing them at Peace River FL later in the year.

Carolina Landing Resort

Walking around and taking in the sights by Lake Hartwell that borders this park. Very hilly but pretty this time of the year.

ON the move

Leaving Fieldridge RV Park in Charlotte to Carolina Landing RV Resort in Fair Play SC.

Just for you BJ!

All the famous drivers to pick from, it had to be .............

The small track

Too wet to tour the fifth of a mile but last weekend Charlotte was home to the big block modifieds of the north as well as the late model outlaw. Tim MacCready won the big blocks.

The stopping end

You are 5000 feet from the starting line where we hope they have stopped by now.

Other things at Charlotte

You are at the start and finish line at the only four lane drag strip in the USA.

Winners Circle

The winning couple.

Finish line

Flagman wasn't there to toss the checked flag down.

Pace lap

We got the van out on the track for two lap pace lap. Banking is only 30 degrees here and we backed off a little [78 mph] for the turns. Our tour guide worked for IBM Endicott, transferred down here and retired ten years ago.

The nose bleed section

Coming thru the tunnel, you get to see the nose bleed seating on the front and back stretch of the track. We were told that RV parking for drivers, crew chiefs and or owners costs $5000. 00 a year

Charlotte Motor Speedway

In keeping the wife busy, we visited the former Lowes Speedway and took the personalized tour as we were the only ones
there.

The Shephards'

Tracked down Nancy, Bill & Kiki Shephard in Rock Hill, SC wednesday night for another gab session. Bill is on the right. Both Nancy and Bill are former Monarch Machine of Cortland employees and relocated down here about six years ago. Smart move. Talked about all the old times that we could remember.

It was how long?

Who knows what they are still talking about after three hours.

Looking up friends

Met up with Charlane Huff [formly from Cortland] in Albemarle, NC for lunch and catching up time. It was about half way between Charlotte and Sanford, her currently address. Had a great time and lunch too. Mae [Carlane's mother] made her special fudge for us.
