The St. Marys River

Some of the great, normal scenes in St. Marys on the St. Marys River.

Oops...........

We don't know if this was planned yesterday or there was an actually fire.

Behind the scenes....

We walked around the props during the movie staff's lunch hour. A lot of fake material to make it real life.

"Royal Pains"

St. Marys, GA is the new Hamptons as they are shooting scenes for a new up coming series.

North bound

Finally out of Florida spending some time in Woodbine, GA. Stopped by King's former residence where we picked him up to company us on our journeys.

The Suwannee River

We stop for photo of the river and found we weren't alone. Nice quiet time in the sun.

Dioramas

The dioramas pictured here illustrates some of Stephen Foster's most famous songs. There are 10 in all that took about 1500 man hours each. You can click on each to enlarge to read the song title.

Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park

The park is located just outside White Springs, FL on the "Suwannee River." Foster was born near the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh, PA on July 4, 1826. Foster composed more than 200 songs before he died penniless at 37 years old.

Nascar's choice of fuel

Sunoco gas station in Ocala with a banked roof and race cars on it. What's next? Wait and see as we are on the move again north. Only 1267 miles to Little York.

New action

Stop at a flea market in North Ocala and found more action next door. Kids, 6 to 12 in age, racing like hell around a road course. Pretty clean running too.

Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park

Strolled the park and Alachua Lake viewing the wild life. No alligators out sunning themselves so I was safe. Only the tortoises seeme to be enjoying the hot weather.

They're still looking good......

Caught up with Gloria and Jim Aylesworth, living 20 plus years in Ocala FL, for an evening of what's been happening lately. Both worked at Monarch in the 70's and I bowled and played softball with Jim and his brother Dick. Went to dinner at the clubhouse restaurant in the Del Webb's Stone Creek retirement community where they now reside. Had a great time as you can see as we had just one after dinner drink. Oh, thats the second bottle.

Syracuse "B" ball

Thank G_d for Direct TV. SU up by 6 over U Conn but grab a beer and hang tight for another close one. As you can see, Keith's boys get the choice seats.

A visiting friend...

Enjoying our time at Southern Oaks RV Resort in Summerfield FL with the local critters. Weather has been in the low 80's.
