Myrtle Beach on a beautiful day, but chilly winds as you can see by the sweatshirt.

Had Thanksgiving dinner with Ed and Barb Bursch (Kelley's father and step-mother from Tully). Turkey and ham provided by the Willow Tree RV resort campground and 50 campers attended with a dish to pass on a bright and sunny day, but not exactly warm.

Myrtle Beach - Great (Willow Tree Resort)campground, but cloudy and 57 degrees. Not ideal for beach weather. We're about 20 miles from the ocean. The campground is having Thanksgiving dinner and providing the turkey and ham with a dish to pass. About 50 people are signed up so far. There are 107 sites and they say they will be full. Well then, alot of campers should be coming in soon. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Sanford, NC

Found a free campsite no hookups. Visiting Charlane Huff (a 17 year employee of Monarch) and family for a few days.

Look who I found in North Carolina! Dave Cornell, a former truck hauler for Monarch machines and a past McLean resident.

Welcome, NC

Stopped in and toured the race shops and the Richard Childress Museum. Not only does he have a ton of cars (Dale Earnhardt) on display, but also his Wildlife display as he is an avid big game hunter. While we were leaving, Richard Childress passed us and waved before we even realized who it was.

Good gas mileage

The next four days after Gettysburg we spent 50 miles west of Richmond. Hurricane Ida came through and we were stuck in the rain for 48 hours. We stayed due to flooding, wind and lots of rain. Also, wanted to visit my neice, Lori and Ellena, but Lori was sick and we were kind of waiting for her to get better. Well, on Friday we decided to leave the rain and wind and head to Asheboro, NC. But only 30 miles into the trip and the RV lost power. Hence, a tow truck and back to Charlottesville, VA and into the rain again for a repair job. Thankfully, it was a simple fix. A wire on the steering column vibrated loose and with some goup and a couple tie wraps, we were good to go. It was too late to get a campsite so we stayed at Jim Price Chevrolet for the night. Today we left and headed to Asheboro again and this time we made it. Sunny and 75 degrees. Hope the second week of our trip is better than the first. Hurricane and breakdown-not a good combination.

Gettysburg, PA

We made it to Gettysburg and toured the battlefields. This picture is a monument that honors the soldiers from Cortland and Cherry Valley, NY. Tomorrow we're off to Louisa, Virginia. It's about 20 miles west of Richmond. Will be visiting my neice and sightseeing. All is well so far.
