Ships passing during the "day"
Sample of the water craft behind our camp site during the day. Locks close at 9:00 PM so ships can't "pass during the night". All seen here are heading east bound and to the ocean.

Phipps Park in Stuart , FL
Saturday, February 15th, we took "the Brave" on a week trip see the Little York neighbors [Bert & Judy Haese] in Stuart. The Martin county park sits next to St. Lucie River and lock. Many water crafts travel this route to Lake Okeechobee and across the state though seven locks and 140 miles to the Gulf of Mexico at Ft Meyers. Top picture is two ships heading west to the lock. Picture two is the lock opening to let out east bound traffic. Third picture is two heading into the lock after clearing traffic. Bottom shows them holding port as the lock doors close.

Cribbage anyone???
Met Bob & Sharon from south of Boston area at a lunch during our stay at Westgate Resort. They saw our cribbage board and it was game on. We moved to Grand Villas and they moved to Star Island Resort on 192 so it was home and home matches. Now they're on a month long cruise.

Singing the oldies!?..!?..
Pat has the radio playing the oldies [60's] so mother and daughter got together to sing along. Kelley blames us for liking the 60's because of all those trips to Vernon Downs. The dogs wanted out.

The girls, Kelley, Linda and Pat Pendell {Brian's mother] are playing a serious game of scrabble. Actual several games were playing on this 1947 issued game set and all pieces were there.

Back to the beach.....
What is it? A pair of fins in the Gulf spotted near shore. Do you know how hard it is to shoot them on top of the water? Brian confirms via google that the fin shape was dolphins. Dolphins' dorsal fins feature a curved look. The fins of sharks, however, are shaped more like a triangle. Look carefully, though -- porpoises' fins can also appear triangular.

BREAKING Sports News....
Sorry to interrupt this blog but just had to post last night's {February 12th] buzzer beater when Tyler Ennis makes a 35-footer at the buzzer and Syracuse remained unbeaten with a 58-56 victory over No. 25 Pitt on Wednesday night. The C J Fuller's [Fair] "look a likes" just couldn't get close enough for this thriller.

He's back....
Breakfast time for one of the white squirrels. These squirrels are not true albinos (they don't have pink eyes), but they certainly are white. Actually they're a color phase of the eastern gray squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis). White individuals occasionally show up throughout the gray squirrel's range, as do solid black ones, and there's a cinnamon-colored phase in the Ocala National Forest.

Exploring the beach, the granddogs found a jellyfish to check out. Saw enough of these things near Corpus Christi beach a few years ago. Brian turn this one over in the bottom picture.

Quint, QUINT,
Quint is hot after something in the sand that left a small hole in the sand. Found it. Sand Crab or Ghost Grab I believe they are referred too. Nobody get bite either after Quint tried to play with it.
