Offically home...

Tuesday, March 28th, we hit the state line @ 1 o'clock. The "Brave" [RV] covered 8393 miles in 192 days thru 27 states. The "dingy" [tow car] gained 7057 miles and two tires. Wonderful time, great to see the country at your own pace and meet new people. Oh the highest gas prices are right here in Cortland County.
PS....There is still a lot of freakin 18 wheelers out there and they still want to run over you.

Shenandoah National Park

Toured the mountains and snow at 4000 feet. Would be real nice trip in the summer.

Virginia and it's getting cold...

Move'n up the road and yes, it's getting colder. No snow yet but who knows.

Watching traffic

Watching traffic still backed up at 4 o'clock happy hour. Seem to get cleared up about 5:30 PM.

and another state and more problems...

This line up is at 1 o'clock and three miles from our exit. One hour later we made the the turn off to the RV park. We found out a tracker trailer blew a front tire and turned over another mile farther about 9:30 AM.

Heading North.....

Still in Alabama near Birmingham when we went by this red neck boo-boo. Another state and other day.

Panacea FL

Spent the week-end at Pat Pendell's winter quarters located 40 miles south of Tallahassee due to the "Brave" needing some attention. Pat is Brian Pendell [Kelley] mother. The RV was still in Mobile for the week. Got it back Monday and we headed north up I 65 by 1 o'clock. The pictures are of Apalachee Bay in the early morning fog.

USS Drum

Last time we were here the sub was still in the bay.

At the hangar building

Inside the hangar at Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile AL with a couple of pictures. The tire has just three takeoffs and landings on it. It's not a Goodyear.

The Battleship Alabama

A few pictures of the tour on the battleship. You will see Linda inspecting the shells storage room and piloting the ship. She needs her stool. I am standing next to a miss-guided shot from a friendly gunner up above.

Memorials added to the park

Battleship Memorial Park

Re visited the park in Mobile again. Last time was ABC's in 1994. They moved the sub and added at air museum.

And four miles down the road...

This is in Theodore, AL and four miles down the road from the RV park at a busy intersection when winds [tornado] touched down last weekend and hits these buildings without warnings. The one was a BP gas station. A miricle no one died.

Johnny's RV Resort

Another stop on the slow trip home in Theodore, AL that got hit with a toranado last week. Nice big park with this lake. You are looking back at the park and also looking at the creatures [ducks] in the lake.

Attention Kelley

Trying out a our new dingy [tow car for non RV'ers]. How would this Jeep 4 door burnt orange Rubicon Wrangler look behind the RV?

All year summerfun.

Where has he been? Wasn't in a snow bank!

Good job.

Took a walk on the beaches in Biloxi and clean as a whistle-no oil residue. Hardly anybody out enjoying the mid 70's weather. Drove back to Gulfport [west] with the same results.

Sucker.....

It just sucked us in at downtown Biloxi but it didn't hurt too bad. Not as nice as the Las Vegas Hard Rock but still works the same. Put the money in and nothing comes out!

My new friends

Actually they were Linda's new found friends at the Legion. You know how she attracts the good ones. Cathi Bernardo would have loved these guys. Those beads and other items under my jacket got heavy after awhile. What the hell am I going to do with them all?

The Parade

Sample of 110 floats that passed by in 2 1/2 hours of bead tossing and other items. Estimated 80,000 people attended this event this year.

The Mardi Gras on Fat Tuesday

We didn't realize that the Mardi Gras is not only in New Orleans but celebrated in Mississippi & Alabama too. We found a nice, friendly spot to watch Biloxi's version as you can see. American Legion Post #33 that had a refreshment stand outside that sold food and $2 Coors Lite. What else do you need for 2 1/2 hours?

Biloxi MS

Rolling into Biloxi on Sunday. More casinos than last time here when we bowled in Mobile in 1994. We will be here until Saturday.
